Minor Hotels' Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel is seeking a skilled Cook to join our kitchen team on a casual basis. You will prepare ingredients, cook a variety of dishes to high standards, and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

We require at least 12 months of cook/kitchen experience, good teamwork and flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Hourly rates start from AU$33.85 to AU$47.39, with rotating rosters across breakfast and dinner periods.

Qualifications

Job Description

Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotelare looking for skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a casualbasis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Shifts scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $33.85 per hour

Saturday: $40.62 per hour

Sunday: $47.39 per hour

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
