Job summary

NRMA Parks & Resorts is hiring multiple casual team members for the Strahan area, with a six-month commitment including the Christmas period. Staff accommodation is available, and couple applications are welcome. You’ll work across venues such as View 42 Restaurant & Lounge Bar, Hamer's Bar & Bistro, and The Kitchen Cafe as a Commis Chef.

Expect fast-paced kitchen duties, high standards of food safety, and teamwork in a scenic Tasmania setting, with opportunities to grow within the NRMA Group.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in commercial cookery.
• DoFoodSafely certificate of completion.
• Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in kitchen operations.
• A passion for your trade and for creating and presenting contemporary dishes using local produce.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work productively in a fast-paced, buzzing work environment, dealing with a high volume of covers in a short period of time.
• Flexible attitude to work hours over a 7 day roster, including weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Senior Chef on shift undertake cooking, baking, pastry cooking or butchering duties, as required to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with maintaining the general cleanliness of the kitchen area and equipment.
• Assist with the training of Kitchen Attendant staff
