Job summary

VMCH's Star of the Sea Café in Torquay is seeking a casual Café Disability Support Worker to mentor trainees, develop barista and customer service skills, and assist NDIS participants toward greater independence in a real-world cafe environment.

You will work with residents and their families, delivering friendly service while supporting the hospitality team. The role emphasizes care, inclusion, and practical skill-building in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality and/or disability sector required.
• Certificate IV in Disability preferred but not essential.
• Food Safety Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Experience operating a coffee machine is preferred.
• Ability to teach and train hospitality skills confidently.
• Strong customer service, communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Mentor young people in our trainee program to build confidence and barista skills.
• Serve residents, families and visitors with quality coffee and service.
• Support NDIs participants in developing personal and professional skills.
