Job summary

The Aboriginal School and Community Educator exists as a casual role to work with school communities across the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) and to provide a welcoming, safe place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their children, commencing ASAP.

Based on Wiradjuri/Yorta Yorta country, the educator will engage with families, school personnel and Elders, forming partnerships with local Aboriginal organisations to support learning, pastoral and spiritual

Qualifications

• NSW Working with Children Check
• National Criminal History Check
• NSW Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

• Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their children in schools.
• Engage with families, school personnel and Elders to build strong partnerships with local Aboriginal organisations.
• Contribute to learning, pastoral and spiritual wellbeing of students and communities.
• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and connect with Elders and community organisations.
