Job summary

Hornsby Shire Council is seeking a lead for home modification and maintenance projects to help older people and those with disability stay safe and independent in their own homes. You will coordinate with clients, Occupational Therapists, contractors and staff to assess needs, develop scopes of work and quotations, and manage projects from commencement through to completion.

You will also supervise contractors, monitor project quality and compliance, and ensure all works are delivered safely,

Qualifications

• Relevant Trade Qualification and White Card.
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake (desirable).
• Current National Police Check.
• Certificate IV in Building and Construction (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in building maintenance, renovation or construction projects.
• Experience coordinating contractors and managing project delivery.
• Knowledge of home modifications, building legislation and WHS requirements.
• Strong organisational, communication and computer skills.
• Experience preparing quotations and project cost estimates.
• Commitment to customer service
• Strong work ethic and accountability
• Effective communication and teamwork
• Extensive carpentry and building industry experience.
• Strong project coordination and supervisory skills.
• Experience interpreting plans, specifications and building requirements.
• Experience working with older people, people with disability or community service programs will be highly regarded.

• Lead the delivery of home modification and maintenance projects.

• Coordinate projects from commencement through to completion.
