Job summary

Fetch Recruitment has partnered with a leading rectification builder to onboard 4–6 Leading Hand Carpenters and Carpenters for ongoing balcony and bathroom rectification work in Melbourne. You’ll work as part of a two-person team, assessing water damage and replacing damaged structural elements to ensure projects are watertight and completed on schedule.

The role demands strong problem-solving, the ability to meet deadlines, and full-time availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in restoration carpentry.
• Experience with start-to-finish balcony and bathroom renovations.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to work full-time in Melbourne and adapt to scope changes.

Responsibilities

• Perform demolition where required with a labourer assisting.
• Review scopes and plan daily tasks.
• Repair framing, ensure watertight seal, and cladding as needed.
• Communicate with builder about faults and progress.

About the Role

Fetch Recruitment has partnered with a leading rectification builder looking for 4–6 Leading Hand Carpenters and Carpenters. With consistent work available through to Christmas, you’ll help close out a number of projects. Working in a team of two, you’ll be tasked with start-to-finish rectification work on balconies and bathroom renovations. Strong problem-solving skills are a must, as you’ll be responsible for identifying areas of water damage post-demolition, replacing damaged structural elements and sealing projects up watertight. If you enjoy a challenge, working to deadlines and a variety of work, this is the job for you.

Main Duties Include

• Small demolition works (a labourer is generally available on-site to assist)
• Reviewing the scope of works provided by the builder and planning the day
• Liaising with the builder should any further faults arise
• New framing when required
• Lock-up – ensuring the project is watertight
• Cladding
• Fixing – skirting boards and architraves

What You Will Need

• A minimum of 7 years' experience
• Familiarity with restoration work, or the ability to pick it up quickly
• Strong time management skills and the ability to understand scopes of work
• A keen eye for detail, including the work that isn't seen
• The ability to adapt should further issues arise outside the scope of works
• Availability to work full-time hours
