Job summary

Vail Resorts in Perisher is looking for two full-time Carpenters to maintain, repair, refurbish, and improve resort buildings and guest facilities in an alpine environment.

The roles involve varied carpentry, construction, and maintenance work with the Station position on an on-call winter roster to support reactive maintenance and operations.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in carpentry or building trades.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Demonstrated carpentry, construction, or building maintenance experience.
• Strong practical trade and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work in changing alpine conditions.

Responsibilities

• Complete carpentry, construction, maintenance, refurbishment, and renovation works.
• Undertake preventative and reactive maintenance across resort buildings and infrastructure.
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Repair and replace building components including doors, windows, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, and fittings.
• Complete minor construction and project works.
• Source materials and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Safely operate and maintain tools, plant, equipment, and machinery.
• Respond to maintenance requests and identify and rectify defects and safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work collaboratively with trades, contractors, and resort departments.

Job description

Join Perisher's Civil and Building Team as a Carpenter and help maintain, repair, refurbish, and improve the buildings, guest facilities, and infrastructure that keep our resorts operating year-round. Two Carpenter positions are available, one at The Station and one at Perisher. Both roles offer varied carpentry, construction, and maintenance work in a unique alpine environment. The Station position will participate in an on-call roster during winter, supporting reactive maintenance and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities
