Job summary

Preservation Technologies in Camperdown NSW is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our remedial construction team on multi-story projects. You will review drawings, select timber, cut and assemble components, and install doors, windows and balustrades to tight tolerances.

The role requires a Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent, at least 1 year of full-time experience, and a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and compliance with building standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of full-time relevant industry experience.
• In-depth knowledge of carpentry principles, construction methods, and building standards.
• Proficiency with construction tools and equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance requirements.
• Attention to detail and precision in measurements and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyse drawings and specifications to identify the necessary materials, dimensions, and installation methods.
• Select suitable timber and materials, then prepare layouts for construction.
• Cut, assemble, and secure parts to build frameworks, fittings, and structures.
• Remove old, and install new doors, windows and balustrades.
• Accurately cut and shape wood joints to the required dimensions.
• Construct concrete formwork as required.
• Repair and renovate existing structures and fittings.
• Work with other materials such as plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals when necessary.
