Job summary

Trendy Carpentry PTY LTD is seeking a Carpenter Supervisor to lead residential framing crews in Sydney and surrounding areas. You will supervise daily tasks, ensure quality and compliance with plans, and coordinate with site managers to meet client expectations.

The ideal candidate has a relevant carpentry qualification, a NSW licence or supervisory certificate, and at least 3 years' framing experience on residential projects. Willingness to travel across Sydney is required.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or higher in Carpentry.
• Current NSW Carpentry Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in cut-on-site framing on residential projects.
• Able to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Sound knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards and WHS obligations.

Responsibilities

• Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and installation procedures.
• Order and select timbers and materials, and prepare layouts and set-outs on site.
• Cut materials and assemble and nail components.
• Erect wall framing and roof framing, sub-flooring and floorboards, verify true structures.
• Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, fit exterior cladding and window/door frames.
• Cut joints and assemble timber structures for installation.
• Construct concrete formwork and repair fittings as required.
• Supervise and coordinate framing crew, allocate daily tasks and monitor progress.
• Ensure quality, accuracy and compliance with plans, NCC and standards.
• Interact with builders/site managers to meet client expectations and schedule.

Trendy Carpentry is seeking a Carpenter Supervisor to join our residential carpentry and construction team based in Sydney. You will supervise and coordinate the framing crew, manage daily tasks, and ensure all work meets quality standards, compliance requirements, and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
• Order and select timbers and materials, and prepare layouts and set-outs on site
• Cut materials, and assemble and nail cut and shaped parts
• Erect wall framework and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards and verify trueness of structures
• Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
• Cut wood joints and assemble prepared timber to form structures and fittings ready for installation
• Construct concrete formwork and repair existing fittings as required
• Supervise and coordinate the framing crew, allocate daily tasks and monitor work to ensure all tasks are completed as required
• Ensure consistency of quality, accuracy and compliance with plans, the NCC and Australian Standards
• Interact with builders and site managers to ensure work consistently meets client expectations and program

About you

• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry with at least two years' on-the-job training, or Certificate IV or above
• Current NSW Carpentry Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate
• Minimum 3 years' experience in cut-on-site framing on residential projects
• Demonstrated experience supervising and leading a crew
• Own hand and power tools
• Reliable transport and willingness to travel to sites daily across Sydney and surrounding areas
• Current White Card
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Sound knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and WHS obligations
• Able to adapt to tight programs with a sense of urgency
