Job summary

Qualifications

• A recognised carpentry qualification or apprenticeship completion in building trades.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety standards.
• Current First Aid Certificate and White Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and install timber framing, flooring, roofing, and other structural components according to architectural drawings and specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
• Inspect work for accuracy and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other trades and project team members to ensure seamless project execution.
• Maintain a safe and tidy work site, adhering to all health and safety requirements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Troubleshoot construction issues and provide practical solutions.
• Perform finishing work including sanding, staining, and varnishing where required.

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

• Preferred: Experience with specialised carpentry techniques, formwork, or heritage restoration
