Job summary

ModX Pty Ltd, a Central Queensland-based construction company, invites applications for an experienced full-time carpenter to join our Rockhampton team. You will contribute to design, fabrication and installation of timber frames, joinery and display structures on residential, commercial and workforce projects.

The role emphasizes safe, efficient on-site work, precise measurements, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years carpentry experience.
• Driver’s license required.
• Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously.
• Strong understanding of carpentry techniques.
• Experience using power tools.

Responsibilities

• Build wall frames, partitions, floors, platforms, counters and display units.
• Interpret drawings to determine materials, dimensions and installation methods.
• Cut and assemble timber and other materials.
• Install joinery, wall panelling and integrated signage features.
• Assemble or dismantle formwork and fittings.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform precise calculations and measurements for assemblies.

By managing every stage of the construction process in-house, from design and manufacturing to delivery and installation, ModX delivers innovative, efficient, and durable building solutions while maintaining exceptional quality, safety, and customer service.

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time carpenter to join our construction team based in Rockhampton. Annual salary range: $80,000 - $85,000 + superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Building wall frames, partitions, floors, raised platforms, counters, cabinets, shelving, joinery and temporary and permanent display structures
• Interpreting drawings to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation techniques
• Cutting and assembling timber and other materials
• Constructing and installing of joinery, wall paneling, counters, display units, and integrated signage features
• Assembling or dismantling formwork
• Assessing and making corrective adjustments to existing fittings
• Evaluating materials and costs for replacing old equipment and installing new components
• Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
• Performing accurate calculations and measurements for assembling partitions

Skills and qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the field
• Relevant AQF Certificate III or equivalent
• Driver’s License
• Ability to use carpentry tools and handling small components requiring manual dexterity
• Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
• Strong understanding of carpentry techniques
• Experience working with power tools
• Ability to work efficiently within a team in high-rise environments
