Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU in Victoria is seeking a qualified carpenter with hands-on experience across residential and commercial construction. You will demonstrate timber construction knowledge, structural carpentry, installations, repairs and site-based work.

The successful candidate will bring reliable workmanship, accurate measurements, good plan-reading, and a strong understanding of construction standards across a range of building projects.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in residential or commercial construction.
• Hands-on timber framing and general carpentry experience.
• Ability to measure, cut, assemble and install components.
• Experience with carpentry tools and machinery.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and project specifications.
• Translate measurements and technical requirements into accurate carpentry work.
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other construction materials.
• Build and assemble wall frames, roof structures, floor joists and sub-floors.
• Check completed structures for alignment, level, plumb and square.
• Install timber door and window frames, wall cladding, fascia and other external components.
• Complete timber joining, fastening, fitting and finishing work.
• Install prefabricated timber components and make adjustments where required.
• Carry out carpentry repairs, alterations and replacement of damaged timber.
• Construct and dismantle timber formwork for concrete-related construction work.
• Operate carpentry hand tools, power tools and relevant equipment safely.
• Maintain quality workmanship while following construction-site safety requirements.
