Job summary

ProfessionalResidential is seeking a qualified carpenter to join our Bayside Melbourne building team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will contribute across the full build, from set-out and framing through to lock-up and fix-out on Bayside and southeast projects.

You will read drawings and plans, build frames and formwork, install finishes, and supervise apprentices while maintaining a safe, tidy site. The role requires a Certificate III in Carpentry and 1–2 years post-trade experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry completed via site-based apprenticeship.
• 1–2 years post-trade residential construction experience.
• White Card; knowledge of OHS and site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and specifications; set out work accurately.
• Build sub-floors, wall frames, roof frames and structural members.
• Construct concrete formwork as required.
• Install flooring, fascia, eaves, external cladding, windows and doors.
• Complete fix-out, including hanging doors and fitting architraves, skirtings and hardware.
• Carry out renovation and extension work, including alterations and repairs to existing structures.
• Spot issues early, communicate solutions to your supervisor.
• Guide and support apprentices and less-experienced team members.
• Deal professionally with clients, suppliers and other trades.
• Keep a safe, clean and organised site.

Professional Residential is a Bayside Melbourne builder established 2009. We build quality new homes, dual-occupancy developments and renovations across Melbourne's southeast. We're a small, experienced team that takes pride in its work, and we're growing.

About the role

We're looking for a qualified carpenter to join our building team in a full-time, permanent position. You'll work across the whole build, from set-out and framing through to lock-up and fix-out, mostly on projects in Bayside and the southeast suburbs.

What you'll do

• Read and interpret drawings, engineering plans and specifications, and set out work accurately
• Build sub-floors, wall frames, roof frames and structural members, keeping everything square, level and plumb
• Construct concrete formwork as required
• Install flooring, fascia, eaves, external cladding, windows and doors
• Complete fix-out, including hanging doors and fitting architraves, skirtings and hardware
• Carry out renovation and extension work, including alterations and repairs to existing structures
• Spot issues early, work through solutions and keep your supervisor informed
• Guide and support apprentices and less-experienced team members
• Deal professionally with clients, suppliers and other trades
• Keep a safe, clean and organised site

About you

• Certificate III in Carpentry, completed through a site-based apprenticeship
• At least 1–2 years' post-trade experience in residential construction
• Valid White Card and a solid understanding of OHS, PPE and site procedures
• Valid driver's licence; own trade vehicle preferred
• Your own quality hand and power tools
• Able to work independently and hold a high standard without constant supervision
• Punctual, reliable and committed to agreed hours and project deadlines
• Available Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with flexibility to stay back when required
