Job summary

HS Commercial Pty Ltd is seeking skilled and reliable Carpenters to join our team. The successful candidate will undertake carpentry and joinery work across commercial and residential projects, including the manufacture, assembly, installation, maintenance and repair of timber and related building components.

This is a full-time position suited to an experienced carpenter who can interpret plans, work accurately to specifications and complete work to a high standard.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of carpentry experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in commercial and/or residential carpentry and joinery.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, plans and work instructions.
  • Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other materials.
  • Construct, assemble and install building frameworks, fixtures and fittings.
  • Manufacture and install joinery and carpentry components.
  • Install doors, frames, windows, cabinetry and timber fixtures.
  • Erect wall frames, roof structures and flooring as required.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and machinery safely.
  • Check dimensions, alignment and finish of work.
  • Repair, replace and maintain timber structures and fittings.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and tradespeople to complete projects.

About the Role:

HS COMMERCIAL PTY LTD is seeking skilled and reliable Carpenters to join our team. The successful candidate will undertake carpentry and joinery work across commercial and residential projects, including the manufacture, assembly, installation, maintenance and repair of timber and related building components.

This is a full-time position suited to an experienced carpenter who can interpret plans, work accurately to specifications and complete work to a high standard.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, specifications and work instructions.
  • Measuring, marking, cutting and shaping timber and other construction materials.
  • Constructing, assembling and installing building frameworks, structures, fixtures and fittings.
  • Manufacturing and installing commercial and residential joinery and carpentry components.
  • Installing doors, door frames, windows, cabinetry, partitions, mouldings and other timber fixtures as required.
  • Erecting and installing wall frames, roof structures, flooring and other structural components where required.
  • Using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
  • Checking completed work to ensure correct dimensions, alignment, level and finish.
  • Repairing, replacing and maintaining existing timber structures, fixtures and fittings.
  • Coordinating with supervisors, tradespeople, subcontractors and other team members to complete projects efficiently.
  • Selecting appropriate materials and estimating material requirements for assigned work.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Following workplace health and safety requirements, site procedures and relevant construction standards.
  • Identifying construction or installation issues and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Ensuring all carpentry and joinery work is completed accurately, efficiently and to the required quality standard.
Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated three (3) years’ work experience working as a Carpenter.
  • Experience in commercial and/or residential carpentry and joinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools and equipment.
  • Good measuring, cutting, assembly and installation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and time-management skills.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within the construction industry.
  • A current driver's licence is desirable.
