Optiver in Sydney offers a five-day immersive Career Kickstarter: Research program to fast-track students into a full-time research career. You’ll learn market making, trading strategies, and practical industry skills through interactive lectures, simulations, and mentorship from our education team.

Eligible finalists across quantitative/technical degrees gain mentorship, network opportunities, and the potential for a 2028 Graduate Program offer. Office in Optiver Sydney.

Qualifications

• Final year students graduating in 2027 or earlier with Australian working rights.
• Studying quantitative or technical degrees such as Maths, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, CS, Econometrics.
• Programming experience in any language (C, C++, Python, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Participate in the five-day immersion to learn market making and trading strategies.
• Attend interactive lectures, trading simulations, and mentorship from our education team.
• Choose one stream (Research, Trading or Technology) and engage in related projects.

Who you are

• Final yearuniversity students(graduating in 2027 or earlier).All degree backgrounds are considered.
• An Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or able to provide evidence of full working rights.
• Studying (or studied) aquantitive or technically focused degree, such as Maths, Statistics, Physics, Electrical / Mechatronic / Software Engineering, Computer Science, Applied / Quantitative Finance or Econometrics.
• Inquisitive and critical thinker, who enjoys creating innovative,new solutions.
• Have a passion for quantitative problems and working in collaborative, dynamic environments.
• Pragmatic, focused on outcomes and can communicate technical concepts well.
• Enjoys utilising technology, programming, or maths in your daily life to solve problems.
• Possess programming experience in any language (C, C++, Python, Basic, JAVA, etc.).
