Job summary

Optiver Sydney invites final year students to join Career Kickstarter: Trading, a five-day immersive program designed to fast-track university graduates into a full-time trading career. You’ll learn market making, options theory, and practical industry skills through lectures, simulations, and mentorship.

Programs cover Trading, Research or Technology streams, with eligibility for Australian working rights. If you excel, you may receive an offer for the 2028 Graduate Program.

Qualifications

• Final year university students graduating in 2027 or earlier.
• Australian working rights.
• Lateral thinker with a passion for quantitative problems and collaborative environments.
• Superior logical reasoning skills.
• Experience in programming or scripting in Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a five-day immersive program to learn market making and trading strategies.
• Engage in hands-on trading simulations, interactive lectures, and mentorship from educators.
• Choose one stream: Trading, Research or Technology and complete related activities.
• Eligible for an offer for the 2028 Graduate Program if you excel.

Who you are

• Final year university students (graduating in 2027 or earlier). All degree backgrounds are considered.
• An Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or able to provide evidence of full working rights.
• Lateral thinker, with a passion for quantitative problems and working in collaborative, dynamic environments.
• Holds superior logical reasoning skills.
• Experienced in programming or scripting in Python a plus.
