Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland is offering a Care Worker - Trainee position in the Community Aged Care North team. This paid traineeship combines work with a Certificate III in Individual Support, equipping you to support older Australians and people living with disability in the community.

During the traineeship you will train, attend sessions, and work with experienced staff to deliver person-centred care in homes and communities, with the opportunity to transition into a qualified Care Worker on

Qualifications

• Enrolment in WMQ Certificate III in Individual Support traineeship.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status where required.
• Probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.
• Willingness to obtain driver’s licence during the traineeship period.
• Ability to work in homes where household pets may be present.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced team to provide high‑quality, person‑centred care in homes and communities.
• Contribute to completion of the Certificate III in Individual Support through the traineeship program.
• Attend required training, induction programs, and workplace learning activities.
• Support customers to maintain independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
• Assist with care and support activities per customer care plans.
• Build positive relationships with customers, families, carers, and colleagues.
• Identify and report health, safety, and environmental hazards.
• Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
