Job summary

Uniting is seeking a caring Care Worker for The Garrison in NSW/ACT, delivering personal care and companionship to residents in our aged care home. You will support independence, help with daily living activities, and assist with medications and minor wound care.

The role emphasizes empathy, adaptability and living Uniting's values of compassion, respect, imagination and boldness. Morning shifts are common, with some PM/ND availability. National Police Check required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care is preferred.
• Adaptable, empathetic, and able to reflect Uniting's values of compassion, respect, imagination and boldness.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to support independence and quality of life.
• Provide daily living assistance (showering, hygiene, dressing, mealtime help, mobility).
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we're looking for

• Ideally, you'll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You'll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you're studying or have recently become qualified.
• You'll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting's everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
