Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT invites you to join our aged care home in New South Wales. You will provide care, companionship and practical support to residents, helping them stay independent and engaged in daily life. This role emphasizes empathy, reliability and a warm, respectful approach to every resident.

You’ll assist with daily tasks, mobility and meal times, and support with basic wound care and medications as directed. A collaborative team environment and opportunities for growth await you.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent is required.
• Experience in aged or community care is preferred but not essential.
• Demonstrates empathy, adaptability and respect for clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to enhance independence and well-being.
• Assist with daily living activities including showering, hygiene, dressing and mealtime support.
• Support with medication assistance and basic wound care as directed.
• Encourage participation in social and community activities to promote wellbeing.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you've recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
