Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking PPT Care Workers at Nambucca Heads to provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents in our aged care home. You will help residents maintain independence and quality of life in a safe, supportive environment, with a rotating roster across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

This permanent part-time role offers opportunities for qualified and unqualified carers, with local commute and potential weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in Aged Care or Community Care is desirable, or willingness to obtain qualification.
• Able to work rotating shifts across morning, afternoon and night.
• Live locally or within commuting distance of Nambucca Heads.
• Own car or reliable transportation due to limited public transport.
• Adaptable, empathetic, resourceful and aligned with Uniting values.

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility support.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.

Uniting Pacifica Nambucca Heads is set across four storeys, each with resident bedrooms and communal spaces, including lounges, dining rooms, and kitchenettes. On the ground floor, there’s a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

This role operates on a rotating roster with opportunities across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

The position is permanent part-time.

Availability is required Monday to Friday, with the option to discuss weekend shifts if desired.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must have a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care is highly desirable, or if you have a passion to begin your career in aged care and willing to obtain a qualification, we can help you get there!
• Must be able to work on a rotating roster with opportunities across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
• Live locally or within reasonable commuting distance of Nambucca Heads.
• Have your own car or reliable transportation as there Is very limited public transportation.
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
