Job summary

Uniting Tamworth is seeking a compassionate Care Worker to provide person-centred support to residents in our aged care facilities, helping them maintain independence and a high quality of life in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will work weekdays, AM and PM shifts, deliver daily living assistance, support with mobility, meals and social activities, and collaborate with a dedicated team committed to dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing).
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care (highly desirable).
• Be adaptable, empathetic and live Uniting’s values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative and bold.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• Genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

About Uniting Tamworth:

Uniting Tamworth comprises two co-located facilities operating as a single service: McKay House, home to 60 residents across three households, and Alblas Lodge, also supporting 60 residents across five smaller household clusters.

Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Weekday shifts - Monday to Friday – AM + PM available.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life


• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility


• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings


• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing),
