Southern Cross Care WA is seeking an empathetic Activity Assistant to join our team in WA. This part-time role supports residents with activities both in-house and in the community, fostering joy, connection, and social engagement.

You'll read care plans, assist with personal care to meet individual needs, and work under the guidance of Shift Managers. Our not-for-profit organisation offers meaningful work and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an activity assistant or equivalent.
• Initiative and the ability to effectively prioritise and multitask.
• Great communication skills (spoken and written).
• Attention to detail will guide you to success in this role.

About The Role And Where You Will Be Working

Located at the heart of town, our facility has been proudly providing care for the elderly since 1968. We’re dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where residents feel supported, engaged, and valued.

As An Activity Assistant, You’ll Play a Vital Part In Enriching The Lives Of Our Residents. Your Day Will Involve

• Supporting residents in a variety of activities, both within the facility and out in the community
• Organising and participating in games, outings, and social events that bring joy and connection
• Building meaningful relationships with residents while encouraging fun and engagement

At Victoria Park Home, we’re more than colleagues, we’re a close knit team. We work together to manage busy schedules, share plenty of laughs, and create a positive atmosphere for both staff and residents.

This is a part time position working Monday to Friday 8am - 3pm.

Your Responsibilities Will Include But Not Limited To

• Carefully read & follow care plans
• Assist with personal care and meeting individual requirements
• Work under the guidance of Shift Managers (Nursing & Facility)
• Building a strong relationship with residents and their families
• Show compassion & exercise patience

About You

You enjoy interacting with elderly people with strong people skills, and take pride in your work. Multitasking comes naturally, and you’re able to effectively manage your time.
