Job summary

Southern Cross Care WA is seeking a Multiskilled Support Worker to join our ageing care team in Broome. You’ll provide personalised care, assist with daily living, and support mobility, companionship and everyday activities, while logging tasks via smartphone.

Qualifications

• Initiative and the ability to effectively prioritise & multi task.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and use new software for record keeping.
• First Aid Certificate is required.
• Advantageous to have Certs in Aged Care or Equivalent.
• Advantageous to have Manual Handling and/or Medication Administration certificates.
• NDIS Worker Screen Check is preferred.
• Valid Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Personal Care: showering, bathing, grooming and dressing.
• Mobility & safe transfers including appointments, shopping and social outings.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with medication prompts.
• Domestic duties as required.
• Log activities and updates via smartphone according to care plans.

About the role and where you will be working:

We’re looking for Aged Care Support Workers across Broome. We are looking for candidates with a bubbly and approachable attitude to support our variety of clientele.

You’ll need to be comfortable spending a fair amount of your day out on the road, driving in between clients' homes.

We’re proud to offer tailored services and make the time we spend with clients as valuable as possible. If you join us, you’ll be helping us enable them to live at home safely & comfortably for as long as possible!

We’ll also be asking you to:

• Personal Care - Showering, bathing, grooming and dressing

• Carefully follow client care plans, and log activities via smartphone.

You’re comfortable working on your own, and more importantly, care about our clients as much as we do.
Building relationships with people comes naturally, and you know that good Support Workers can make such a difference in the quality of someone's life.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
