Job summary

Uniting Griffith is seeking a Care Worker for the residential aged care home. You will provide care, companionship, and support to residents, helping to maintain independence and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities include daily living assistance, mobility support, medication assistance and facilitating social activities. This role offers casual shifts with a pay rate up to AU$34.59 per hour plus casual loading and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience in aged or community care is preferred or a recent qualification seeking a career in aged care.
• Able to demonstrate compassion, respect, and resilience in daily care tasks.

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to improve independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as showering, hygiene, dressing, meals and mobility.
• Assist with medications and simple wound dressings as directed by care plans.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

A Day In The Life with Uniting Aged Care

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
