Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking casual carers for our aged care home in the Mosman area. You will provide care, companionship and daily living support to residents, helping maintain independence and quality of life.

Roles include assist with showering, hygiene, dressing, meals and mobility, plus medication support. Certificate IV or Cert III with medication competency is required, with experience in aged or community care preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Cert III with medication competency required.
• Experience in aged or community care preferred.
• Ability to adapt and show empathy in a busy aged care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to support independence and quality of life.
• Deliver daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meals and mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings as needed.
• Support residents in community activities and social engagement.

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged if you have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
