Job summary

Empire Group is seeking a Capital Works Project Manager for a 6-month contract based in Brisbane CBD. You will lead capital works delivery and asset maintenance across a government agency, coordinating with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external service providers to ensure alignment with government frameworks and asset management objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high-value capital building works projects within complex government or commercial environments.
• Strong knowledge of project, program, asset, and facilities management principles.
• Advanced financial analysis and reporting skills, including budget management and forecasting.
• Ability to interpret legislation, policies, and government frameworks to support project delivery.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and risk assessment skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across government, industry and service delivery partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of capital works programs and maintenance projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Provide strategic updates to senior executives and government stakeholders on project performance and asset management.
• Monitor governance, risk, compliance, and reporting to meet government standards.
• Prepare briefing notes, cabinet submissions, business cases, and financial reports.
• Support Asset Strategic Plan development and annual review with cross-unit collaboration.
• Build relationships with contractors and external partners to progress initiatives.
