Job summary

Charter Hall Holdings Pty Limited is seeking an Assistant Capital Works Manager to deliver capital projects across live assets in Canberra. You will shape spaces to protect quality, sustainability and long-term performance, coordinating across budgets, scoping, governance and tenant needs while maintaining safety and high standards.

You will collaborate with Asset and Property Management, consultants and contractors to ensure minimal disruption and strong investment outcomes, building experience

Qualifications

• Future focused capabilities including self-awareness, resilience, agility and generosity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills, initiative and an ability to prioritise.
• Project management qualification and/or Building/Engineering/Architecture or other appropriate tertiary qualifications.
• 3 years industry experience with experience in a similar technical role.
• Understanding of the design and delivery market and the key players in ACT.
• Demonstrated contract negotiation experience in the building and construction industry.
• Demonstrate skills in design management of multi-faceted team, assist the delivery of capital works projects.
• Negotiate with and influence others drawing on own experiences.
• Ability to make efficient and effective decisions / recommendations with deep understanding of the risk / reward profile.
• Ability to question the status quo and challenge existing concepts, be curious.
• Perform in a team environment and demonstrate excellent tenacity and commitment.
• Well organised, with the ability to manage several tasks at the same time and prioritise tasks for completion.

Responsibilities

• Shape projects that genuinely improve our Office assets across the ACT portfolio.
• Manage budgets, programs, scoping, governance and reporting for capital works.
• Build trusted partnerships with Asset Management, Property Management, consultants, contractors and tenants.
• Embed WHS&E standards and support sustainability initiatives.
• Grow capability across a national platform by applying consistent systems and sharing insights.
