Job summary

Sanitarium Health Food Company in New South Wales is seeking a Casual Canteen Assistant to join our busy team. You’ll work 2–3 shifts weekly, with options 7:00am–2:00pm or 4:00pm–9:00pm, bringing a friendly attitude and strong customer service.

A Food Handling Course will be funded by Sanitarium. Responsibilities include preparing vegetarian food, serving colleagues, handling the till, restocking the Staff Store, and keeping areas clean and compliant with food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Friendly and approachable attitude with excellent customer service skills.
• Confidence with cash handling and POS systems.
• Flexibility to cover shifts and additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a range of vegetarian food.
• Providing friendly and efficient service to team members.
• Operating the cash register and processing transactions.
• Restocking and maintaining the Staff Store.
• Keeping the canteen, equipment and work areas clean and organised.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace requirements.
• Supporting the wider canteen team and providing leave coverage when required.
