Job summary

Bundaberg Sugar Limited is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join the Cane Railway Maintenance team. The role supports maintenance of the cane railway network, including day shifts in the non-crush season and shift work during the crushing season.

You will operate a mobile crane, perform track maintenance, and assist with derailment recovery while adhering to safe work plans and lifting procedures.

Qualifications

• A current C2 mobile crane licence.
• A current HR driver licence.
• Experience operating mobile cranes.
• Ability to work day work during the non-crush season and shift work during the crushing season.
• Strong commitment to working safely and following procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Railway or cane railway maintenance experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate a mobile crane safely during track maintenance and derailment recovery.
• Carry out general cane railway track maintenance.
• Attend derailments and assist with recovery of locomotives and rollingstock during crushing season.
• Follow safe work plans, procedures and correct lifting techniques.
• Inspect vehicles, tools, lifting gear and safety equipment before use.
