Job summary

Applicants must be Registered Nurses with AHPRA, a Bachelor of Nursing, and experience in oncology care;

Qualifications

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor of Nursing qualification.
  • Experience in oncology nursing, cancer services or care coordination.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Oncology Nursing desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert care coordination and navigation throughout the cancer care continuum.
  • Act as a key contact for patients, families and carers.
  • Coordinate referrals, investigations, appointments and treatment requirements.
  • Support patients to navigate often complex healthcare systems and treatment journeys.
  • Work collaboratively with oncologists, multidisciplinary teams and external service providers.
  • Deliver education and support to patients and carers to promote informed decision-making.
  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to colleagues involved in cancer care.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
