Job summary

NSW Health at Westmead Hospital seeks an experienced Cancer Care Coordinator (Head & Neck/CNS) to lead advanced care coordination and education across multidisciplinary teams. You will influence practice, contribute to research and service improvement, and support patients and families navigating complex cancer journeys.

With 5+ years post‑registration experience and at least 3 years in the specialty, you will drive education, evidence‑based practice and collaboration across Western Sydney Local

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years full time equivalent post registration experience.
  • At least three (3) years in specialty field (Head & Neck or CNS).
  • Postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to field.
  • Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA - Division 1.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, educate and advocate for patients.

What you'll be doing
As Cancer Care Coordinator, you will provide advanced clinical consultation and complex care coordination, helping patients, families and carers navigate their cancer journey. You’ll combine expert nursing practice with clinical leadership, education, research and service development.

Provide expert clinical advice, consultation, assessment, care coordination and education

Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of specialist nursing care and clinical practice

Develop and deliver education for patients, carers, nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals

Initiate and contribute to research, quality improvement and best-practice initiatives

Analyse current models of care and influence service planning, policy, guidelines and strategic improvements

Registration: Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA- Division 1

Selection Criteria:

Minimum five (5) years full time equivalent post registration experience with at least three (3) years’ experience in specialty field.

Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and review of policy, procedure and guidelines

Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary context.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and develop/maintain professional relationships and networks across multiple disciplines.

Demonstrated ability and knowledge to utilise information technology effectively.

Demonstrated skills in providing education for patients, carers and staff.
