Job summary

University of Queensland Union is seeking a motivated Chef de Partie to join our hospitality team at St Lucia. This casual role offers up to 38 hours during peak periods, with a schedule on Monday, Thursday, and Friday based on business needs.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will contribute to high-standard food production, maintain hygiene, and mentor junior kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Current Food Safety certification, or willingness to obtain.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience leading or supervising a team is highly regarded.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation, food safety and safe handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present food to recipe, menu and portion standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised workstation and follow portion control to minimise waste.
• Support the Chef and kitchen team with daily operations and ad hoc duties.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS standards in line with SOPs.
