Job summary

Sydney Seaplanes is seeking an experienced aviation maintenance professional to join our team as Maintenance Co-Ordinator / Head of Airworthiness and Maintenance Control (HAAMC). This pivotal role ensures continuing airworthiness, maintenance planning, technical oversight, and regulatory compliance for our fleet, including Cessna Caravan and de Havilland Beaver aircraft.

Responsibilities

This is a key operational and compliance-focused position responsible for supporting the continuing airworthiness, maintenance planning, technical oversight, and regulatory compliance of Sydney Seaplanes’ aircraft fleet.

The current fleet consists of Cessna Caravan and de Havilland Beaver aircraft. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in maintenance coordination, continuing airworthiness management, or a similar aviation maintenance planning and oversight role. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance coordination activities and support the continuing airworthiness of the aircraft fleet.
• Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements with approved maintenance providers and operational teams.
• Monitor aircraft hours, cycles, defects, maintenance forecasts, component lives, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate aircraft technical records, maintenance documentation, and airworthiness-related records.
• Support compliance with applicable CASA requirements, company procedures, maintenance programs, and safety management processes.
• Liaise with pilots, engineers, maintenance organisations, suppliers, and management to ensure aircraft availability and operational readiness.
• Assist with defect management, maintenance planning, reliability monitoring, and follow-up of corrective actions.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture by identifying risks, improving processes, and supporting continuous improvement in maintenance control practices.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience in Maintenance Coordination, CAMO, HAAMC, continuing airworthiness, or an equivalent aviation maintenance management role.
• Sound understanding of CASA maintenance and continuing airworthiness requirements, including aircraft maintenance programs, defect control, technical records, and release-to-service processes.
• Experience working with seaplanes, amphibious aircraft, float operations, or remote-area aviation operations highly desirable.
• Experience with Cessna Caravan and/or de Havilland Beaver aircraft highly regarded.
• LAME or AME qualifications, or substantial practical aircraft maintenance experience, would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage maintenance schedules, competing priorities, and time-critical operational requirements.
• High attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate technical, compliance, and operational records.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with pilots, engineers, maintenance organisations, suppliers, and management.
• Practical problem-solving ability, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to aircraft availability and safety.
• Competence with maintenance tracking systems, CAMP, AeroTrack, Microsoft Office, and digital record-keeping tools.
• Ability to work independently, travel to remote work locations when required, and support a dynamic aviation operation.
