Job summary

AMES Australia is seeking an Employment Mentor at Villawood to provide tailored support to CALD job seekers and help overcome employment barriers. You will manage a caseload, conduct job search training and collaborate with employers to place candidates within an agreed timeframe.

The role requires experience in case management, a valid driver’s licence and a Working With Children Check, with flexible working arrangements considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in case management or client liaison, including with Refugees/Asylum Seekers or CALD backgrounds.
• Must hold a current valid Driver's Licence.
• Need a current Working With Children Check (Employee).
• Understanding of employment support services for CALD/refugee cohorts.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current labour market trends.
• Proven ability to motivate clients and negotiate on their behalf.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support and guidance to job seekers from CALD backgrounds.
• Manage a caseload of job seekers, reverse market candidates and monitor service delivery.
• Conduct job search training and support employers taking on CALD candidates.
• Assess barriers to employment and develop career or job plans.
