Job summary

AMES Australia is seeking an Employment Mentor at Villawood to provide tailored support to CALD job seekers and help overcome employment barriers. You will manage a caseload, conduct job search training and collaborate with employers to place candidates within an agreed timeframe.

The role requires experience in case management, a valid driver’s licence and a Working With Children Check, with flexible working arrangements considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in case management or client liaison, including with Refugees/Asylum Seekers or CALD backgrounds.
• Must hold a current valid Driver's Licence.
• Need a current Working With Children Check (Employee).
• Understanding of employment support services for CALD/refugee cohorts.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current labour market trends.
• Proven ability to motivate clients and negotiate on their behalf.

• Full-time Maximum Term position to 30 October 2028, basedat our Villawood location
• Support job seeker clients from a Culturally andLinguistically Diverse (CALD) background, to address/overcomebarriers to employment
• Annual salary is $70,561 + 12% super

About the position

We are seeking applications for an EmploymentMentor to provide individualised support, assistance andguidance to job seekers from a CALD background who areaddressing/overcoming barriers to employment. If successful, youwill ensure that they gain suitable employment opportunities withinan appropriate time frame, and will negotiate, monitor and reviewthe delivery of employment support services for clients. Thisinvolves the case management of a caseload of job seekers, reversemarketing candidates, job search training and supporting employersas they take on candidates who are from a CALD background.

• Some case management or client liaison experience,including working with people who are Refugees and AsylumSeekers or are from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse(CALD) background, and an understanding of the challenges theymay face
• A current valid Driver's Licence will be required for thisrole
• A current Working With Children Check (Employee)
• A working knowledge and understanding of employment supportservices, for clients from a CALD background or refugee andasylum seeker cohorts, and the challenges they face
• Demonstrated knowledge of current labour market trends
• Demonstrated record of success in placement of job seekersinto employment or experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive job seekerassessment, identifying barriers to employment and preparingindividual career or job plans
• Proven ability to motivate clients, and advocate andnegotiate on their behalf
• Highly developed communication and interpersonalskills
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills toimplement innovative job seeker focused solutions to gainemployment
• Strong time management, organisational and well developedcomputer skills
• Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability,teamwork and professionalism consistent with the AMES Visionand demonstrated commitment to the quality and continuousimprovement principles
• Ability to speak a second language will be highlyregarded
