Job summary

Wattaka Café, operated by Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation in Singleton NSW, seeks an experienced Barista to join the team. You will craft coffee, welcome customers, and support catering services in a community cafe that prioritises Indigenous employment and client wellbeing.

The role requires 1+ year barista experience, a Barista Certificate, and a current driver’s license; working with children and police checks may be required before commencing.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience as a Barista.
• Accredited or unaccredited Barista Certificate.
• Understanding of food safety and stock rotation.
• Able to obtain Paid Working with Children Check, Police Check & NDIS Worker Screening.
• Current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Café Team in the smooth running of the café and catering services.
• Prepare and serve coffee, drinks and cafe foods.
• Greet customers, take orders, and process payments.
• Promote Wattaka services & catering.
• Assist in external catering orders as required.
• Maintain stock levels and rotation.
• Keep Front of House and Barista areas clean.
• Work cooperatively with supported employees to deliver high-quality products.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to café culture.

Wattaka Café is a 100% Aboriginal-owned social enterprise offering supported employment in hospitality for Indigenous people on NDIS plans. Wattaka Café is seeking an experienced Barista to join the café team. We’re looking for someone with a passion for coffee, a love of customer service, and a positive, can-do attitude.

Location & Cafe Opening Hours:

Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 2:00pm

Conveniently located in the heart of Singleton

What you will be doing:

Supporting the Café Team in the smooth running of the café and catering services

Preparing and serve a variety of coffee, drinks and café foods

Greeting customers warmly, take orders politely, and process payments efficiently

Promoting and upselling Wattaka services & catering services

Assisting in preparing external catering orders as required

Maintain stock levels and rotation

Keeping Front of House and Barista areas clean and inviting

Working cooperatively with supported employees to deliver high-quality products and services

Attending team meetings and contribute positively to the café culture

Education, Qualification & Experience

1+ years’ experience as a Barista

Current Drivers Licence
