Job summary

Banksia Villages Limited in Broulee is seeking a Café Attendant to deliver warmth, energy and quality service in our on-site café for residents, families and visitors.

You’ll work independently or with guidance, serve food and beverages, prepare light meals and drinks, operate POS/EFT, keep areas clean, restock inventory, and report issues. A genuine empathy for older people and food safety understanding is essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a busy café.
• Familiarity with POS and EFT systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Respect and empathy for older people.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages safely and professionally.
• Prepare light meals and a range of hot and cold drinks.
• Operate POS systems and manage cash/EFT transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of café and service areas.
• Restock and rotate inventory.
• Monitor and report any equipment or supply issues.
• Assist with light cleaning, dishwashing, and setting/resetting tables.
