Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking Café and Functions Assistants to create a home-like atmosphere for residents while delivering friendly service. You will brew espresso, prepare food, handle POS transactions, and help with event support in our café and village settings.

Ideal candidates bring empathy for elderly residents, attention to detail, and knowledge of food safety. RSA and a Working with Children Check are required. Availability Mon–Sat is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in food service or front of house, with barista skills.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).
• Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, high-quality customer service to residents.
• Prepare food and beverages, including espresso coffee.
• Operate the POS system and process payments smoothly.
• Keep the cafe tidy, welcoming and ready for service from setup to clean-up.

As a Café and Functions Assistant, you'll be doing more than serving coffee - you'll be creating an atmosphere that feels like home for our residents! Your key responsibilities include:

• Delivering top-notch customer service with warmth and a smile
• Preparing food and beverages with care, including crafting delicious espresso coffee
• Operating our POS system and managing payments effortlessly
• Ensuring the café is always tidy, welcoming, and ready for action - from setup to clean-up
• Supporting events and activities that bring life to our villages!

What you'll bring

Empathy to interact respectfully with elderly residents, attention to detail, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. You share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, and bring them to everything you do.

What's required

• Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Working with Children Check
• 6 months experience in food service or front of house experience, along with barista skills

• Your commute is within 20mins of our locations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Availability across Monday to Saturday, during family friendly hours
