Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking energetic Café and Functions Assistants to create a home-like atmosphere for residents while delivering friendly service.

You will craft espresso beverages, assist with food service, operate the POS, and contribute to events across our villages. The role suits someone with 6 months in food service and barista skills, a strong customer-service mindset, and a team-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in food service or front of house experience with barista skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a community-focused environment.
• Demonstrated empathy and respectful interaction with residents.

Your opportunity

As a Café and Functions Assistant, you’ll be doing more than serving coffee – you’ll be creating an atmosphere that feels like home for our residents! Your key responsibilities include:

• Delivering top-notch customer service with warmth and a smile
• Preparing food and beverages with care, including crafting delicious espresso coffee
• Operating our POS system and managing payments effortlessly
• Ensuring the café is always tidy, welcoming, and ready for action – from setup to clean-up
• Supporting events and activities that bring life to our villages!

Whatyou’llbring

Empathy to interact respectfully with elderly residents, attention to detail, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. You share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, and bring them to everything you do.

What’srequired:

• Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Working with Children Check
• 6 months experiencein food service or front of house experience, along with barista skills

What’spreferred:

• Food Handling Certificate
• Hospitality and customer service experience
• Your commute is within 20mins of our locations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A kind, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
• Availability across Monday to Sunday, during family friendly hours between 7:30am - 3:30pm, we also operate 3 week nights
