Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Café and Functions Assistant to create a home-like atmosphere for residents while delivering friendly service. You will handle espresso coffee, food preparation, and POS transactions in a supportive team environment.

The role requires empathy, attention to detail, and knowledge of food safety. You may need availability across Thursday to Sunday, including nights, with a focus on community engagement and events.

Your opportunity

As a Café and Functions Assistant, you’ll be doing more than serving coffee – you’ll be creating an atmosphere that feels like home for our residents! Your key responsibilities include:

• Delivering top-notch customer service with warmth and a smile
• Preparing food and beverages with care, including crafting delicious espresso coffee
• Operating our POS system and managing payments effortlessly
• Ensuring the café is always tidy, welcoming, and ready for action – from setup to clean-up
• Supporting events and activities that bring life to our villages!

Whatyou’llbring

Empathy to interact respectfully with elderly residents, attention to detail, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. You share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, and bring them to everything you do.

What’srequired:

• Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Working with Children Check
• 6 months experiencein food service or front of house experience, along with barista skills

What’spreferred:

• Food Handling Certificate
• Hospitality and customer service experience
• Your commute is within 20mins of our locations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A kind, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
• Availability across Thursday to Sunday (including nights)
