Job summary

WHSmith Australia is seeking a Cafe All Rounder for Longshot Cafe at Lismore Hospital. You will specialise in coffee preparation and provide friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced hospital cafe environment that values teamwork and guest satisfaction.

No prior barista experience required, though 1 year of cafe hospitality helps. You will handle orders, cash, food and beverage service, keep areas clean, and support daily cafe operations with a positive, can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Ideally 1 year cafe/hospitality experience.
• Must have flexible availability.
• Barista skills advantageous but not required.
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, including tables, counters, and kitchen areas.
• Handle cash register duties, process payments accurately, and manage customer inquiries professionally.
• Support cafe operations by restocking supplies.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

About the Role

As a Cafe All Rounder at WHSmith, you are passionate about all things coffee! You will specialise in preparing coffees and other beverages, alongside exceptional customer service. You must be able to serve all customers in a timely/efficient manner and follow all food safety guidelines. You will also be responsible for:

• Providing exceptional customer service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including tables, counters, and kitchen areas.
• Handling cash register duties, process payments accurately, and handle customer inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
• Support café operations by restocking supplies.
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
• Handling cash and card transactions.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
