Job summary

Macleay Options is looking for a Café All Rounder to support the day-to-day operations of Phoenix Café in Bowraville, with occasional shifts at Kempsey. You will assist across customer service, food and beverage preparation, cleaning and general duties while working with supported employees to promote social and employment outcomes.

The role requires prior café or hospitality experience, strong communication skills and a willingness to obtain required certifications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a café, hospitality or food service environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Experience working with people with disability (desirable but not essential).
• Current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Current Driver Licence and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with café procedures and food safety requirements.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process customer transactions.
• Assist customers with enquiries, orders and general café services.
• Maintain compliance with food handling, hygiene, WHS and infection control standards.
• Assist with stock rotation, replenishment and monitoring stock levels.
• Support the setup, presentation and cleanliness of the café, including dining areas, kitchen spaces and displays.
• Complete dishwashing, cleaning and sanitising duties throughout each shift.
• Work collaboratively with café staff, supported employees and management to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide encouragement and support to supported employees within the café environment.
• Assist with catering orders, functions and special events as required.
• Ensure all café equipment is used safely and maintained in a clean condition.
• Follow all organisational policies, procedures and workplace requirements.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
• Undertake other duties within the scope of the role as directed by management.

About the role:

The Café All Rounder is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of Phoenix Café, ensuring a welcoming, inclusive and high-quality café experience for customers. The role provides assistance across all areas of the café, including customer service, food and beverage preparation, cleaning, and general café duties, while working collaboratively with café staff and supported employees. This is a position based at our café in Bowraville, with occasional shifts required at our Kempsey café. The successful applicant must be available to work Monday to Friday. The pay rate will be negotiated based on the candidate’s skills and qualifications.
