HCL Technologies Limited is seeking a CAD Infrastructure Engineer to build, maintain, and support Azure cloud-based CAD/EDA infrastructure for semiconductor design projects. The role covers Azure and Linux environments, tool deployment, compute infra, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will configure access, licenses, and shared storage for design workloads while troubleshooting timing-related and environment issues. This remote-capable full-time position is based in Redmond, WA.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced IC-CAD Infrastructure Engineer to build, maintain, and support Azure cloud-based CAD/EDA infrastructure for semiconductor chip-design projects. The engineer will be responsible for Azure and Linux environments, EDA tool deployment, compute infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, access management, and troubleshooting design-environment and timing-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision and manage Azure cloud infrastructure for hosting and running CAD/EDA tools.
• Provision, configure, and maintain Linux virtual machines (VMs) and compute environments.
• Set up and manage security groups, user access, permissions, and onboarding for engineering teams.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CAD/EDA tools used by chip-design teams.
• Manage tool versions, licenses, environment configurations, and dependencies.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for CAD/EDA environments and engineering workflows.
• Configure and support compute farms, job scheduling, and workload management.
• Support LSF/Slurm or similar workload-scheduling environments.
• Set up and maintain shared storage and file systems required for design workloads.
• Troubleshoot timing failures on the floor and work with engineering teams to identify environment, tool, infrastructure, or flow-related issues.
• Troubleshoot Linux, infrastructure, compute, storage, access, and CAD environment issues.
• Automate infrastructure and environment-management activities using scripting.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Linux administration.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud infrastructure, and VM provisioning.
• Experience supporting CAD/EDA infrastructure in a semiconductor or chip‑design environment on cloud.
• Experience installing and maintaining EDA/CAD tools.
• Experience with LSF or Slurm.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Knowledge of security groups, access management, permissions, and user provisioning.
• Experience with compute/HPC environments and workload scheduling for EDA on cloud.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell.
• Good troubleshooting skills across Linux, compute, CAD tools, and engineering infrastructure.
• Understanding of semiconductor/IC design workflows.

Nice to Have

• Knowledgeable on Cadence flow , Synopsys flow , and/or Siemens EDA tools.
• Exposure to PDK, Physical Design, STA, or Analog CAD flows.
• Understanding of timing analysis and timing failures.
• Experience supporting large-scale HPC/compute environments for semiconductor
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation or Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Cadence Virtuoso, Siemens Calibre, Synopsys StarRC, and PDK integration.
• Knowledgeable on EDA tool in Synopsys RM flow for RTL CDC, Synthesis, DFT, Floorplanning, P&R, CTS, Power Optimization,

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $95000/Year

Pay Range Maximum: $192000/Year
