Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited is seeking a CAD Infrastructure Engineer to build, maintain, and support Azure cloud-based CAD/EDA infrastructure for semiconductor design projects. The role covers Azure and Linux environments, tool deployment, compute infra, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will configure access, licenses, and shared storage for design workloads while troubleshooting timing-related and environment issues. This remote-capable full-time position is based in Redmond, WA.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Linux administration and Azure.
• Experience deploying CAD/EDA infrastructure in cloud.
• Experience with LSF or Slurm workload managers.
• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Understanding semiconductor IC design workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Knowledge of security groups and access management.
• Experience compute/HPC environments for EDA on cloud.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage Azure cloud infrastructure for hosting and running CAD/EDA tools.
• Configure and maintain Linux VMs and compute environments.
• Set up security groups, user access, and onboarding for engineering teams.
• Install, configure, and maintain CAD/EDA tools used by design teams.
• Manage tool versions, licenses, configurations and dependencies.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for CAD/EDA environments and workflows.
• Configure compute farms, job scheduling, and workload management.
• Troubleshoot timing failures and environment/tool issues on the floor.
• Automate infrastructure and environment-management with scripting.
