Job summary

Ondacomms Pty. Ltd. is hiring for Cable Installer / Radio Technician to support DAS/IBC projects across Sydney and Australia. Based at Banksmeadow, you will work with company vehicles and tools provided for field duties on commercial deployments.

The role requires RF testing, radio programming, and strong attention to site safety with a hands-on approach. Open Cabling registration and a relevant electronics/telecom diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Cert IV in Electronics/Telecommunications or equivalent trade experience.
• Open Cabling Registration (Structured and Fibre endorsements highly regarded).
• Hands-on RF test equipment experience and programming radio hardware.
• Valid Driver’s License and White Card.

Responsibilities

• Install cable runs, containment setup, rack installation, and infrastructure work.
• Test copper, fibre optic, and voice networks.
• Interpret commercial blueprints, schematics, and construction schedules.
• Perform RF testing, spectrum analysis, sweep testing, and PIM testing on installed DAS and two-way radio networks.
• Program radio terminals, base stations, repeaters, and digital radio systems.
• Troubleshoot RF interference and signal issues on site.

Cable/DAS Installers & Radio Technician Company: Ondacomms Location: Office in Banksmeadow, Sydney NSW – Projects in Sydney and across Australia Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, and Contract opportunities available Salary Range: $80,000 – $115,000 + Super (commensurate with role and experience) About Ondacomms Ondacomms is a growing organization specializing in Two-Way Radio and Cellular In-Building Coverage (IBC) / Distributed Antenna System (DAS) solutions.

With over 10 years of operating in this space, we have built a strong customer base across large-scale commercial fit-outs and infrastructure projects. We are expanding our field teams and looking for dedicated professionals to fill multiple roles based out of our Banksmeadow depot for projects across Sydney and Australia. We are looking for people with the right skill set and capabilities to help take the business to the next level.

Cable Installer / Radio Technician Salary: $80,000 – $115,000 per year Position Overview We are looking for people with the skills and requirements below. Not all are required, and we can tailor the role to the right person.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Installation: Perform physical cable runs, containment setup, rack installation, and infrastructure work.
• Testing & Termination: Terminate and test copper, fibre optic, and voice networks.
• Blueprints: Interpret commercial blueprints, schematics, and construction schedules.
• Testing & Commissioning: Perform RF coverage testing, spectrum analysis, sweep testing, and PIM testing on installed DAS and two-way radio networks.
• System Programming: Program radio terminals, base stations, repeaters, and digital radio systems.
• Fault Finding: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve RF interference and signal degradation issues on site.

Qualifications

Current Open Cabling Registration (Structured and Fibre endorsements highly regarded). Diploma or Cert IV in Electronics/Telecommunications or equivalent trade experience. Hands-on experience with RF test equipment and programming radio hardware (Motorola, Kenwood, Tait).

• Valid Driver’s License and White Card required.
