Job summary

MCCOLL CABINETMAKERS PTY LTD in Raceview, Queensland, is seeking an experienced cabinet maker to join our team on residential builds and renovations, with occasional commercial cabinetry and built-in furniture projects.

While our primary focus is finding a Cabinet Maker, a suitably experienced Joiner will also be considered. You will read drawings, select materials, program CAD/CNC machines, and install cabinetry in new homes and renovations with high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Cabinet Making or Joinery is required.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience operating woodworking machinery and tools.
• White Card (General Construction Induction Card) is required.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture cabinets and built-in furniture from drawings and specifications.
• Examine drawings, work orders and samples to determine specs.
• Select and work with timber, veneers, particle board, engineered wood products.
• Program and control CAD and CNC machines to mark out, cut and shape components.
• Install cabinetry for residential new builds and renovations and occasional commercial fit-outs.
• Craft bespoke items requiring fine craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Assemble components to form cabinet sections and finished products.
• Fit hinges, locks, catches, drawers, shelves and other hardware.
• Prepare cabinets for painting or coatings.

MCCOLL CABINETMAKERS PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and motivated Cabinet Maker to join our team in Raceview, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to work on residential new builds and renovations, occasional commercial cabinetry and occasional built-in furniture projects.

While our primary focus is finding a Cabinet Maker, a suitably experienced Joiner will also be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working from drawings and specifications to manufacture cabinets and built-in furniture.
• Examining drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine specifications.
• Selecting and working with materials such as timber, veneers, particle board, synthetic wood and other engineered wood products.
• Programming and controlling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to mark out, cut and shape components.
• Installing cabinetry for residential new builds and renovations and occasional commercial fit-outs.
• Making bespoke items requiring fine craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Assembling components to form cabinet sections, built-in furniture and completed products.
• Fitting hinges, locks, catches, drawers, shelves and other hardware.
• Preparing cabinets and built-in furniture for the application of painted coatings and finishes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant qualification in Cabinet Making, Joinery, or a related field.
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience operating woodworking machinery and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
