Job summary

Optiver in Sydney is seeking experienced software engineers to join our options positional trading team. You will work with traders and researchers to understand trading requirements, design software, and own implementations deployed in global markets from Sydney.

You will collaborate across engineering and quant teams, contribute to the architecture of a distributed trading platform, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapid feedback and production releases.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as software engineer in distributed/low-latency systems.
• Proficient in OO languages: C++, Java, or C#; comfortable with Python.
• Strong CS fundamentals: operating systems, data structures, algorithms.
• Willing to use AI tools in parts of the role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with traders and quant researchers to design trading software and logic.
• Contribute to the architecture of Optiver's distributed derivatives trading platform.
• Own code through deployment into live markets from Sydney.
• Work in a fast-paced development cycle with tight feedback loops.
