Job summary

ButterBoy Byron Bay is seeking a passionate Retail Baker to join our crew in Byron Bay. The role involves preparing, baking and finishing products to ButterBoy’s exact recipes, hitting daily production targets, and maintaining quality.

You’ll also handle ingredient prep, stock monitoring, waste minimisation, and food-safety compliance. Customer-facing duties include greeting customers, sharing product knowledge, and assisting Front of House during peak times.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bakery/kitchen experience.
• Commercial cookery or pastry qualification.
• Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Strong communication and team attitude.
• FSS certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake and finish products to ButterBoy’s recipes and standards.
• Hit daily production targets without compromising quality.
• Assist with ingredient prep, mixing, shaping, baking and packing.
• Monitor stock levels and flag shortages.
• Minimise waste and rotate stock.
• Keep workstation clean, organised and food-safety compliant.
• Lend a hand across the team and stores to keep operations smooth.
• Greet customers and share product knowledge.
• Assist Front of House during rush with serving, packaging and counter duties.
