Job summary

Monadelphous Group is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to lead quality management activities on a major Oil & Gas construction project. Based on a 2:1 FIFO roster to Karratha, you will provide technical QA/QC guidance, inspect welds and piping, and liaise with clients on quality requirements.

The role requires welding inspection qualifications (WTIA, CSWIP, or equivalent) and NACE 2 certification, with strong knowledge of Australian standards and AS/NZS ISO 9001.

Qualifications

• Welding inspection experience and related qualifications.
• NACE 2 or CSWIP certification is required.
• Sound knowledge of QA/QC systems and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and quality control activities for piping systems, welds and associated components.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and structural steelwork erection.
• Utilise NDT techniques to evaluate weld quality and detect defects.
• Review welding documentation.
• Perform material inspections and certificate verification.
• Issue, follow up and close out of non-conformance reports and field discrepancies.
• Document inspection findings and generate reports.
• Collaborate with QA/QC team to promote continuous improvement.

The role of QA/QC Inspector will see you reporting to the Quality Lead and responsible for the preparation and implementation of the construction project’s quality management policy, system and strategies within the project; providing technical advice and assistance to the project team as well as liaising with clients in relation to quality requirements.

This role will be offered on a 2:1 FIFO roster to Karratha for our major Oil & Gas construction project. Welding inspection qualification WTIA, CSWIP or equivalent is required and a NACE 2 certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and quality control activities for piping systems, welds, and associated components, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and standards.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and structural steelwork erection.
• Utilise non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, to evaluate weld quality and detect any defects or discontinuities.
• Review welding documentation.
• Perform material inspections, including verification of material certificates, identification, and compliance with specifications.
• Issue, follow up and close out of Non-Conformance Reports and Field Discrepancies.
• Document inspection findings, generate comprehensive reports, and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and associated documentation.
• Collaborate with the QA/QC team to promote continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices related to piping and welding quality.

What you’ll bring:

• Previous experience in a similar Welding Inspector position.
• Surface treatment/ coating experience with NACE 2 certification.
• Sound working knowledge of Australian standards and codes.
• Strong knowledge of the AS/NZS ISO 9001 quality systems and processes.
• Well-developed written communication, able to prepare management reports and work instructions.
• Demonstrated ability in computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
• Welding / Fabrication Trade, NDT background or relevant industry experience.
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
• Proof of right to work in Australia
