Job summary

Carbonix is seeking a skilled Remote Pilot to join our operations team in Australia. You will report to the Chief Remote Pilot and contribute to EVLOS/BVLOS missions, long-range surveys, and safety-focused flight operations across Australia and beyond.

The role emphasizes advanced mission planning, LiDAR/photogrammetry workflows, and experience with autopilot systems. A strong license and travel readiness are essential for success in this dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• CASA RePL (sub-25kg) with powered-lift highly desirable.
• Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) required or highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge of EVLOS/BVLOS operations and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with mission planning software, GIS tools, and computer-based workflows.
• Willingness to travel for work.
• Must hold valid car's driver license.
• Must hold valid working rights in Australia.
• Highly desirable: RePL with Powered Lift category endorsement.
• Highly desirable: Knowledge of BVLOS SORA application processes.
• Highly desirable: Familiarity with ArduPilot or similar autopilot systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct EVLOS and BVLOS missions with Carbonix RPAS platforms under supervision and guidance.
• Support mission planning, risk assessments, and execution of long-range survey operations.
• Operate in compliance with CASA regulations, company ReOC conditions, and safety management systems.
• Assist the CRP and senior pilots with operational documentation and safety reporting.
• Develop skills in advanced mission planning, LiDAR and photogrammetry survey workflows, and autopilot systems.
• Travel across Australia for flight operations and client projects, with occasional overseas assignments if required.
